My family tends to enjoy bland breakfasts. Most days Betsy and the kids will have oatmeal or maybe scrambled eggs or yogurt with some fruit. All good options, but some days I need more. I need more flavor and more protein and a big flavor boost to start my day.

Enter this Tuna Breakfast Bagel! Piled high with fresh veggies, cream cheese, Bumble Bee® Albacore Tuna mixed with some lemon zest, and garnished with capers and chives! Ounce for ounce tuna is lower in calories, fat, sat fat, and cholesterol than even the leanest cuts of beef and chicken, which makes it an excellent breakfast protein. Suffice it to say that this breakfast bagel is far from bland. It’s pretty much everything I crave for breakfast!

Making the Tuna Mixture

I kept my tuna mixture really easy and simple for this. The idea is that you can store it together basically while you make coffee! Tuna, some lemon zest, and a pinch of salt is all you need.
